Hospitals Limit Visitors due to Flu Fears

St. Barnabas in Livingston issues Flu Visitation Guidelines

With flu cases still climbing, St. Barnabas, in accordance with the recommendations by the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA), has issued limits and guidelines for hospital visitors. (Exceptions will be made for hospice or terminally ill patients who are not expected to be discharged from the hospital.)

Visitation limitations being implemented include:

No visitors under 18—No one under the age of 18 is allowed in the hospital unless as a patient, a volunteer who has provided proof of immunization or visiting hospice or terminally ill patients who are not expected to be discharged from the hospital.

No sick visitors— Anyone who has a fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, will not be permitted to visit.
