Family Festival, Stuff the Bus, Town Campout and More This Weekend

Livingston's Youth Appreciation concludes with all-day events Saturday and Sunday.

Get ready for a weekend jam-packed full of events and programs as Youth Appreciation Week comes to a close. 

The annual Family Festival at The Oval, located in front of Livingston High School at 30 Robert H. Harp Drive, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be rides, slides, games, activities with West Essex YMCA staff, a petting zoo, pony rides, an expo by the Livingston Robotics Club, an ultimate frisbee contest, refreshments and more.

There will be a bike rodeo between 1 and 3 p.m. at the festival.

Livingston's Bicentennial Birthday Concert will follow at the gazebo between 3 and 3:30 p.m. 

Or you can check out the ultimate frisbee competition between 3 and 5 p.m. 

Stuff the Bus Food Donation Drive

Stuff the Bus will also have a food collection for Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse, or C.H.O.W. between 9 and 11 a.m. 

Food collected will be made available to those accessing C.H.O.W. services and it will also be distributed to local food pantries and soup kitchens in the area including Interfaith Food Pantry, Apostle House, Mother Theresa’s and Oheb Shalom Bobrow Kosher Food Pantry, among others.

The Stuff the Bus initiative will make stops at Kings Food Market, at 255 S. Livingston Ave, and ShopRite, at 483 S. Livingston Ave., and end at the Oval to receive donations.

Town Camp Out

And after the Family Festival wraps up, head back to The Oval at 5 p.m. for the Town Camp Out. 

Families are invited to bring their tent and camp out on The Oval lawn. Local Boy Scouts will be on hand to assist with camp setups and activities.

Movie Night

The annual Movie Night will follow at 8 p.m. This year’s movie will be "Wreck-It Ralph."

The Circus Comes to Town on Sunday

The final day of Youth Appreciation will end with a day at the circus!

The Cole Bros. Circus will be back at the Livingston Circle on Route 10. The tent will be raised at 7 p.m. and performances will run between 2:30 and 5:50 p.m. 

Advance ticket sales will begin in early May at the Senior, Youth & Leisure Services Office at 204 Hillside Ave.
