Local Gift Guide, Day 1: Historic Home Photos

Caldwell Public Library sells prints of 1950 photographs of almost every building in the borough.

There are 12 shopping days left until Christmas! Avoid the malls and big box stores. Through Sunday, Dec. 23, Patch will feature a gift idea each day that you could pick up right in the Caldwells.

Day 1: Historic Home Photos

Do you or a friend have a home in Caldwell? The Caldwell Public Library Foundation sells prints of photographs of homes taken by photographer Gene Collerd in 1950. It's a great gift for the new homeowner as well as someone who cherishes their Caldwell abode.

All proceeds benefit the Caldwell Public Library. Building survey photos can be seen at http://www.caldwellpl.org/caldwell-building-survey-gallery/ and a convenient order form is listed on the website and attached above as a PDF.

Cost: $30 for an 8 x 10 up to $125.00 for a 20 x 30

Plus: You don't have to leave town to get the photograph beautifully framed. Stop by Art Devons or The Frame Shop, both in Caldwell, for personalized service.

CJ—could it be that your house number changed over the years?

I doubt it. The house next to me is there and you can see mine next to it and it looks similar to now. Nothing like the one they have listed. Also the house next to me and mine are almost the same. I know this house was like that one years ago.

Where is the order form located? I see a link to paypal for donations, but not for picture ordering.

I was able to find my home, but with the incorrect address. The number is right, but the street is wrong. Id suggest looking thru them all.
