Shoprite Debuts Valet Parking

Livingston's Shoprite features valet parking, after trying it out in December.

A minivan's bumper sticker reads "Swim Team Limo." Another reads "Honor Student on Board." No matter what the sticker says, at ShopRite of Livingston, every car can have special treatment.

After a trial run in December, optional weekend valet parking is here to stay at ShopRite.

"With the popularity of the new Village, ShopRite's prepared food department, and the number of people who come on the weekends," explains a Wakefern representative, "we decided to offer this valet service."

The service is free of charge, and says a Wakefern representative, "our customers love it."

Have you tried the valet parking? Tell us in the comments.

This is crazy....between the stupid valet parking, and all the spots reserved for the "at home' service, it's made their bad parking situation even worse. I wish they had some real competition in town.

Another reason I chose to use other Shop Rite stores. Parking was bad enough and now this.

I love it... it makes shopping so much easier at Shoprite. I can get in and out without worrying about finding a spot.

I do anything NOT to have to shop in THE LIVINGSTON SHOP RITE CIRCUS! Actually I like the valet parking. Too bad its not feasible to have it extended to include Thursday, Friday and Monday. As there is not a single check-out person who understands the proper mechanics of grocery bagging (because they have never been taught) having a valet to carry bags to the car is a godsend. Why is it so difficult to teach store employees that a bag that i packed with 6, liter bottle of soda, a gallon of bleach and a gallon of milk, is too heavy for most people to lift, and by mixing soda bottles with light napkins, paper towels etc. saves my back, my time-as I have to repack the bags sensibly, and SR would save quite a bit of money of ripping bags. Ask a packer to make the bags "light"...and you wind up with 10 bags with 2 items in each. SR-over the course of a year how much does that cost you! Dare we expect to have cold/frozen items placed in a single bag...Hello-A Hot Rotisserie Chicken really doesn't like to sit on top of a half gallon of EXPENSIVE Ice Cream, now does it? I could go on..but "nuff said!" I am off to Kings or Stop & Shop in Caldwell or Whole Foods right down the hill on Eagle Rock. We have lot of choices if we just put in a little effort.
