If You Open It, They Will Come – In Droves

SuperCuts Comes To Livingston

The “Now Open” sign had barely appeared in front of 25 S. Livingston Ave. when calls began pouring in.

Even though the official grand opening of the new SuperCuts in Livingston isn’t until Nov. 19, customers are already flocking to the store.

“Business has been good,” said area supervisor, Yoselin Sanchez, as she gave a tour of the 35-year-old chain’s latest addition.

SuperCuts had long considered Livingston a desirable spot for a new site.

“It’s near our other locations," Sanchez said, "and our corporate office decided it would be a great town in which to do business.”

So when property on one of the town’s busiest streets became available, representatives from the national chain jumped on it.

“The property was the right size space with great visibility and the township has a good size population for us,” she said.

SuperCuts immediately asked long-time employee Marlin Guerrero to be the manager and promoted several experienced West Orange hairdressers to serve the new store. They hope to have between six to eight stylists as business expands. And they fully expect it to grow.

SuperCuts offers a full menu of services at a fraction of the cost of other salons.

“We specialize in giving people a million dollar experience at budget prices,” a smiling Sanchez said.

In addition to cutting hair, the company offers expert hair coloring, highlighting, and waxing (everything but perms) with little to no wait time. Appointments are not accepted, although they do have a Super Call policy, where clients can call one hour ahead of time and upon arrival, become the next customer served.

They company recently came up with a low-cost alternative to an expensive spa treatment: The Tea Tree Experience.  It gives customers not only a professional haircut, but soothing scalp massage and mini-facial for only $20.  “It’s like a mini-vacation and makes a great stocking stuffer or you can purchase a gift card and use it as a teacher’s gift,” explained Sanchez.

The Livingston store will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for it's grand opening. Free haircuts on that day will be on a first-come, first-served basis; goody bags will also be available (while supplies last).

“We have a long-standing history of excellent customer service and are perfect for busy people who want to look good without spending a lot,” said Sanchez.  “We’re really happy to be in Livingston.”
