Rain Alters Livingston's Fourth of July Celebration Schedule

Daytime festivities have been moved indoors and will begin at 11 a.m.

The rain from Hurricane Arthur has altered Livingston's Fourth of July celebration schedule.

The daytime festivities have been moved inside to the Livingston High School auditorium and will start at 11 a.m. with the reading of the Declaration of Independence.

The Bands & BBQ event remains on schedule for 4 p.m.

Here is the updated schedule:

11 a.m.— Declaration of Independence reading (Livingston High auditorium)
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.—9-Hole Mini-Gold & Connect 4 Game (Livingston High cafeteria)
12:30 p.m.—Powerhouse Studios: Kids 'N Motion for those under 9 (Livingston High cafeteria)
1:30 p.m.—Powerhouse Studios: Wild & Wacky Challenge for those 8 and over (Livingston High cafeteria)
2:30 p.m.—Ice cream eating contest (Livingston High cafeteria)
4 to 9:15 p.m.—Bands & BBQ will go on as scheduled at the Oval

The status of the 21st annual car show, patriotic ceremony, the Kiwanis Swim Karnival and the American Legion baseball game have not been determined. An updated message will be available by 7:30 a.m. Friday at 973-535-7925, press 3.
