There was no twerking on the dance floor, nor did any song by rapper 2 Chainz make it to the DJ’s request list.

In fact, most of what is found in today’s high school prom was nowhere to be found in Morristown last weekend, as the eighth annual “Mormon Prom” played on to the delight of hundreds of teens from northern New Jersey.

This version of the prom, which touts wholesome fun, is organized and funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to nj.com. For a teen to attend, the report said, they needed to abide by some rules, like signing a pact to dress and behave modestly, dance appropriately, and abstain from using alcohol or drugs.

Attendees need not be Mormon, however, just looking for a good time sans dirty music or dirty dancing, the report said. In addition to the pact, organizers encouraged students to keep costs down as well, with many forgoing the traditional limousine or brand-new expensive dress.

Students age 16 to 18 were invited, and those who needed a ride from their parents didn’t need to put anyone out: a parents room was on site for any moms or dads that provided a ride and needed somewhere to crash for a couple hours before the end of the dance, the report said.

I dated a Mormon girl in High School. What her parents never knew would have killed them.

If it's a Mormon prom, do the boys have to bring multiple dates?

Great idea!
Clever recruitment effort as well.
