Starting this week, a new contract went into effect for the collection of recyclables in Livingston.
The Livingston website announced that Giordano Companies, a firm based out of Newark, will be responsible for collecting all the residential curbside recycling in town. At Monday's town council meeting, Mayor Stephen Santola said that the company was the lowest bidder for the town's recycling contract.
For missed pickups, the company can be contacted by calling their toll free number (800) 216-2250 or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The town also reminded residents that due to the Independence Day Holiday, there will not be any garbage or recycling collection this week on Wednesday, July 4. The next garbage collection day for those residents' whose garbage is to be collected on Wednesday will be on Saturday, July 7.
Paper Recycling will be collected one day after your normal recycling day for zones 3,4 and 5 this week and will be collected on July 5 for those residents in Zone 3, July 6 for those residents in Zone 4 and July 7 for those residents in Zone 5. The regular pickup schedules will resume the week of July 9.
