Essex County Under Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Strong winds up to 60 mph causing downed trees and power lines are likely, according to National Weather Service.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Essex County Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. 

Heavy showers and damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph are possible. 

The National Weather Service warns residents to remain inside and stay away from windows. 

A sever thunderstorm warning is in effect until 10 a.m., and the wind advisory is in effect until 2 p.m.

Downed trees and power lines are likely.
