Children's Charity Seeks Donations

Kayla Cares 4 Kids, founded by an 11-year-old Florida girl, seeks donations of new and used DVDs, DVD players and educational games or books.

Kayla Abramowitz, an 11-year-old girl from Florida, spent a lot of time in hospitals with her brother, who has juvenile arthritis and eosinophilic esophagitis and soon realized that it was lonely and boring.

In March 2013, she founded Kayla Cares 4 Kids, a charity dedicated to providing stimulating and entertaining games, DVDs and movies for children who are being hospitalized for long periods of time.

The organization is currently seeking donations of new and used DVDs rated G to PG13, used DVD players in good working order, and new games, educational toys, crossword puzzles, word searches, and math and writing books.

The organization also seeks computing equipment such as laptops, iPads and educational software.

To set up a donation, donors are asked to contact Kayla Cares at prowriter@bellsouth.net.
