Seeds of Sun… A Musical Shabbat Under the Stars @ B'nai Abraham

Several times a year, Temple B’nai Abraham’s Shabbat  worship is enhanced by special guest musicians, cantors and/or composers, who bring unique musical perspectives to TBA services. On Friday, June 13, 2014,  at 6:30 PM,  Seeds of Sun, the leading Israeli-Jazz ensemble in North America, will join Cantor Epstein for a unique musical Shabbat experience.  This Friday night service “under the stars”, will take place outdoors on the patio in the Gittlin Garden, weather permitting.  Seeds of Sun has blended music written in Israel in a Jazz and World Music setting with original Israeli Jazz. The band has played on prestigious stages such as the Kennedy Center in Washington and the 92nd Street Y in New York, and has traveled as far as Vietnam, Hong Kong and The Philippines introducing a new and exciting sound of Israel to the world. The ensemble also performs on the major stages of the American Jewish World, including the URJ Biennials, Jewish festivals nationwide, and Major Cultural Centers across America. Compositions by Mattan Klein have earned Seeds of Sun prestigious awards at The John Lennon Songwriting Contest and The USA Songwriting Competition. Band members include: Bandleader Mattan Klein, on Flute; Ella Tadmor and Mika Hary, Vocals; Yoav Polachek and Manu Koch on Piano; Gustavo Amarante, on Bass; Yuval Lion and Dan Aran on Drums and Gilad Ben Zvi on Guitar. This service is free and open to the community. For information, please go to www.tbanj.org or call 973-994-2290.
