Learn4Life, a new source for online learning, is now available through Livingston Public Library. The next series of classes start July 17.

As part of its mission to provide lifelong learning opportunities for the community, Livingston Public Library has purchased Learn4Life, an online resource that allows users to take free courses in a convenient format: anytime, anywhere!

 

Whether you want to learn a new skill to help you land a job or get a promotion, or you're just interested in personal improvement to enjoy a new hobby or past-time, Learn4Life is a free and easy way for anyone with a valid Livingston Public Library card.

Learn4Life’s six-week courses support professional development, such as business law, human resources, management, manufacturing and marketing. Other offerings for computer technology suit skill levels from beginner to advanced. Personal development courses include parenting, the arts, hobbies, along with a many health and wellness offerings

Every course is taught by college instructors or experts in the field for a quality educational experience for all ages.

 

The next set of courses begins on July 17, then again once a month in August and each month after. To use Learn4Life, you'll need your Livingston Public Library card number. Get started by going to livingston.bccls.org and click on the Learn4Life icon.

 

  • Search for the course you are looking for or browse the cataloge to view the 100s of titles that are available.
  • Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
  • Choose the start date you would like (please note, you will not be able to access lesson one until that start date).
  • If this is your first time enrolling in an Learn4Life course, enter your email address in the New Patron Box and click on “Create Account”.  If you are a returning patron simply type in your email address and password used in your last registration.
  • If this is your first time, you will need to complete the Account and Information page. Returning users will be taken directly to the payment page.  Please note that you can submit generic information in the patron section. Your information is not tracked or shared.
  • At the Payment Options Page, the cost is $0; just enter the full 14-digit number on your Livingston Library card. You may take up to 5 courses in a calendar year. If you take classes in 2013, the limit resets to 5 again in January 2014.

 

Once you’re enrolled you’ll receive a confirmation at the email address you provided.  If you need assistance please click on the “Help” tab at the top of the page to email a member of the Patron Support Team.
