interACT Sings!

Broadway’s Beth and Sean McCourt will host an evening of song and dance when interACT Theatre Productions brings Broadway to the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts in Maplewood.

interACT Sings! Page to Stage is a two-night fundraising benefit for the troupe’s upcoming season on Friday and Saturday, August 2 and August 3. The benefit musical revue will include a reception thanks to the generosity of local merchants on each of the two evenings at 7 p.m. with performances starting at 8 p.m.

A cast featuring local talent and from nearby towns will perform some of the most memorable tunes taken from the pages of great literature. Nicholas Clarey directs and choreographs the production. Holland Jancaitis is the music director.

The cast features Ann Alfano, Lisa Barnett, Nadiya Braham, Laura Brenden, Kim Curtis-Garcia, Levil Shawn DaCosta, Anique Evans, Chris Farrow, Alicia Fink, Erik Gaden, Molly Gilman, Heidi Hart, Sally Jayne, Nicole Karrs, Helen Laser, Stacey Lawrence, Holly Lehren, Zeke Maben, Diane McClintock, Rebecca Monk, Regine Riviere, Shona Roebuck, Sarah Rosen, Sabrina Santoro, Ellen Sleeter, Kayla Steward, Elena Stremlin, Pat Tine, Rebecca VanVoorhees, Rosemary Wall, Adena Weisholtz, Tasha Williams-Arroyo, David Wren-Hardin.

The show’s hosts, Beth and Sean McCourt, are accomplished theater artists (Wicked, Mary Poppins, Fiddler on the Roof among their credits) and are acting company members in Midtown Direct Rep, a repertory theater company in residence at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC).

interACT is launching its fifth season presenting inclusive and accessible community theatre. The company resides at the Baird Theatre in South Orange. Its upcoming season will include four main stage productions, Carrie: The Musical, The Importance of Being Earnest, Father of The Bride, and Into the Woods. The company also presents children’s productions and a summer drama camp.

Able Baker, Maplewood Deli and Lotus Petals, as well as a host of local businesses are helping out to support the arts with “Page to Stage.” Tickets are $25 for one night, or $40 for both.
