Get's Get America Healthy!

Janet Blum, RD, CDE and Certified  health coach with Take Shape For Life (TSFL), a comprehensive weight management and healthcare business, recently received her Health Coach Certification through a highly specialized program developed by The MacDonald Center for Obesity Prevention and Education. In order to obtain the certification, candidates must complete a full-day course covering a wide range of health related topics and pass a written exam.

Subject areas of study included discovering optimal health, tools for creating a healthy lifestyle, habits of reaching and maintaining a healthy weight, active living, habits of healthy sleep, and daily choices to obtain optimal health. The training sessions were conducted by a number of well-known physicians, led by Dr. Wayne Andersen, co-founder and medical director of Take Shape For Life.

In acknowledging the Heath Coach Certification, Blum said, “This added level of education will enhance my ability to help my health conscious clients. With three fourths of Americans overweight or obese, there is so much to do to make this country healthy. Diets alone do not work because they don’t teach the necessary habits for long-term health. With this training, I am now better equipped to teach people how to properly manage their health for the rest of their lives.”

The TSFL program features Medifast replacement meals that can result in weight loss of two to five pounds per week for the first two weeks and one to two pounds per week thereafter. The unique coaching plan also helps individuals develop lifelong healthy eating and lifestyle habits. The Medifast meal replacements contain 24 vitamins and minerals to fulfill daily requirements and have been recommended by some 20,000 doctors since 1980. The specially formulated meal replacements have also been proven clinically safe and effective by researchers at major university teaching hospitals, including Johns Hopkins University. Resulting weight loss may help high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol associated with being overweight.

According to Blum, who has been a Registered Dietitian for 30 years, “There are no calorie or carbohydrate counting or points to monitor and no complicated meals to prepare. It couldn’t be easier or more flexible.” The TSFL weight loss program is as simple as eating daily five pre-packaged meals and one lean meal with a three servings of vegetables. There are more than 70 nutritionally balanced meal replacements from which to choose, including shakes, bars, drinks, oatmeal, chili, soups, pudding, brownies, and much more. These meal replacements are the tool that helps clients reach their healthy weight quickly and safely.
