Whippany, NJ, August 5, 2013 — The 25th Annual Newark Cemetery Visiting Day will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, September 8.

Participants will visit historic cemeteries and the graves of loved ones in the Grove Street and South Orange Avenue area and also the McClellan Street area, near Newark Airport. Detailed cemetery information will be available at the office of Raiken Monuments, 308 Grove Street, Newark. The visiting day is being sponsored by the Community Relations Committee of Greater MetroWest NJ, the public policy and advocacy arm of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ.

 

Federation funds and supports 27 local agencies that provide a wide range of social and human services, including career counseling for the unemployed, supportive services for seniors and individuals of all ages with special needs, and crisis counseling for children, adults, and families.

 

A new page on the Federation website will feature information about the historic Jewish cemeteries in Newark.
