AUDITIONS OPEN FOR THE NEW JERSEY YOUTH CHORUS' 2014/15 SEASON

The New Jersey Youth Chorus will be holding auditions for the 2014/15 season on Sunday, June 8th (from 2pm to 5pm) and Saturday, June 21st (from 10am to 5pm) at the Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ.  Students entering grades 1 through 12 may audition for the appropriate choir: the Advanced Chorus (girls in grades 8-12), the Young Men’s Ensemble (boys with changing or changed voices in grades 8-12), the Intermediate Chorus (girls in grades 5-7), the Boys’ Ensemble (boys with unchanged voices in grades 5-8), the Apprentice Chorus (girls and boys in grades 3-4) and First Steps to Music (girls and boys in grades 1-2). 

 

During its twenty-two seasons, the children of the New Jersey Youth Chorus have performed locally, nationally and internationally.  Previous performance opportunities have included with the Super Bowl 2014, Carnegie Hall, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra & Brian Stokes Mitchell, the State Theater Gala with Marvin Hamlish and Bill Conti, Chorus America’s National Conference, the American Choral Director’s Eastern Division Convention, the national anthem at Mets and Globetrotters games, “Kids for Kids” charitable concerts and joint concerts with youth choirs from South Africa, England, Spain, Canada and the U.S.A.
