Mt. Pleasant Middle School chorus and orchestra will put on a concert Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the school's auditorium.

Temple B’nai Abraham will hosts its 20th annual Women’s Interfaith Forum Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. at the temple, at 300 E. Northfield Rd.

A vegetarian/dairy buffet supper will be served. Reservations are required. There is no charge for this event, but seating is limited. For information call the temple office at 973-994-2290 or send an email to tbainfo@tbanj.org. 

The snow date will be Thursday, Jan. 23. 

This year's topic is "Human Trafficking: Why Should I Care? It’s a Local Problem , not Just a Global Issue!" The event will include the following people: 

  • Melanie Roth Gorelick,Director of the Community Relations Committee of Greater MetroWest NJ.
  • Ingrid Johnson, RN, MSN, member of the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking and mother of a human trafficking survivor.
  • James J. King, Director of Social Concerns for the NJ Catholic Conference
  • Keyla M. Munoz, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Newark Division Victim Specialist.

The event is sponsored by The Social Action Committee and the Sisterhood of Temple B'nai Abraham. 

Celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., women will gather from greater Essex County to share a vegetarian meal, prepared by the women of TBA’s Sisterhood, and discussion about issues that are of interest to women of all backgrounds.
