Schools Out For NJEA Convention, Veterans Day Luncheon And More Friday

    • The New Jersey Education Association, largest teacher's union in the state, will hold its annual convention Thursday and Friday. Livingston students will have off from school both days. 
    • Temple Emanu-El will host its annual Kristallnacht commemoration on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the temple, at  264 W. Northfield Road. It will be a powerful and memorable night of memory, music, and reflection. Keynote Speaker Bob Max will share his story as an American captured in the Battle of the Bulge and forced into slave labor to become one of the Nazi atrocity cases.  For more information, visit http://www.emanuel.org/caring/holocaust/ or call the office at 973-992-5560.
    • A Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Senior/Community Center, at 204 Hillside Ave. The ceremony will be followed by the luncheon at noon and entertainment at 12:45 p.m. with Maggie Worsdale, WWII songs and letters from Leonard Talent Associates. The lunch is sponsored by Quinn Hopping Funeral Hope and Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Chapel. Entertainment sponsored by Livingston VFW Post 2856. Registration is required at SYLS Office or by visiting www.livingstonsyls.org. The event is free for Livingston residents.
