Rose and Chris Thomas predict their newborn girl Sophia will have some explaining when she fills in her birthday on forms for the rest of life. She arrived as the new year dawned at 6:03 a.m. today, 1/1/11. "We were a little worried it would happen during the snowstorm," said her dad, Chris Thomas. Sophia wasn't due until Jan. 10, but during the final hours of 2010 her parents decided it was time to head to the hospital. Thousands of luminaries on New Year's Eve in Livingston lit a path for a better tomorrow in 2011. On dozens of streets across town were signs of H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere). H.O.P.E. is a fundraiser to help support Livingston individuals and families who need aid. "People have a misperception of Livingston and don't realize that there are people in town with serious financial troubles," said Karen Garber, one of the founders. "There are many people who truly need help."
