Livingston Woman Dies in Car Accident on Route 280
Desirae Gallart was a 2004 graduate of Livingston High School.
Desirae Gallart, 24, of Livingston died early Friday morning as a result of a car accident on Route 280, according to Sgt. Brian Polite, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police.
A 2004 graduate of Livingston High School, Gallart was a cosmetologist in a Livingston salon.
Polite said Gallart was driving west on Route 280 in Roseland when she lost control of her car at a curve just before 2 a.m. The car went off the road and hit a fence.
Gallart suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Polite said.
"Desirae was a fun and energetic beautiful person inside and out," said her friend Jillian Lion. "She put everything into achieving her goals and never gave up. She is truly an angel and she will be missed by everyone she came into contact with."
"She was a sweet and sincere girl," said her classmate, Laura Douglass.
Gallart attended Montana State University in Bozeman. She graduated from the Paul Mitchell Parisian Academy in 207.
"All thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends around this hard time," said Douglass.
The funeral service will be Sunday, Dec. 12, at noon in the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd., Livingston.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Joseph and Gina Gallart; her mother and step-father Renae and Barry Funt; siblings Jack, Jennifer and Shelbi; her grandmothers; and her boyfriend, Christian Roman.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Kessler Institute, 1199 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ, 07052.
