Livingston Man Arrested for Alleged Flashing Incident

The following arrest information was supplied by the Livingston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A township man was recently arrested for allegedly flashing and touching himself in front of a child, according to Livingston police.  

The incident happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday when a girl under 13 years old was walking her dog at Littels Pond by Livingston High School, Det. Sgt. Anthony Dippold said on Friday. 

The man allegedly asked the girl about her dog, and she noticed the front of his pants were open and he was allegedly inappropriately touching himself. The girl, who was not harmed, walked away and told her family, Dippold said.

Tracy Bennett, 49, of Livingston was arrest on Thursday afternoon, Dippold said. He was charged with sexual contact for touching himself in front of a child and endangering the welfare of a child, according to police. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office assisted with the investigation, Dippold said. 

Bennett was sent to the Essex County jail in Newark and he is being held on $250,000 bail.

Dippold said information about the arrest will be sent to the Livingston school district.
