CareOne Goes Greene

Jets running back Shonn Greene visited facility Saturday to spread message of hope and determination to facility's residents.

New York Jet running back Shonn Greene visited CareOne at Livingston Saturday to spread his personal message of hope and determination to residents and sign autographs, chat and pose for pictures.

More than 100 fans, patients and their families, along with community members turned out to wish Greene luck in the upcoming season.

Active in the Going Greene Foundation, which helps young people struggling to overcome adversity, Greene was at CareOne to spread his personal message of hope and determination to the older generation.

“No matter what your dream is, whether to write a book, start a business, or help a cause…don’t ever give up!”

Filman Cooper, a CareOne patient recovering from knee replacement surgery said, “it was great to meet Shonn. I just came to CareOne yesterday for rehabilitation and it gave me a lift to meet a star NFL player.”

The event was touted as an inspirational and motivational event for CareOne patients, who are receiving medical rehabilitation therapy, long-term care and assisted living at the facility.

CareOne at Livingston’s Administrator Vicki Hayes said, “it was really wonderful of Shonn to come here on his own time. Our patients and families really enjoyed meeting him, many of whom are huge Jets fans.”
