In the wake of Sandy's devastation there is still some beauty and romance.
Crystal Plaza the premier turn-of-the-century catering facility in Livingston is holding weddings this afternoon and this evening and also a Christening on Sunday afternoon, with generators and LED lighting.
They erected an outdoor tent with field stoves and outdoor convection ovens and the chefs have been working in 24 hour shifts since Thursday morning. LED lighting was delivered from NYC to not only light the interior but also to light outside so that the guests will find their way in the darkness. There will be candlelight in the ballroom because the generators aren't powerful enough to light the entire mansion. The staff has been working to set up the ballroom using daylight hours and flashlights so that our brides are still able to have their dream wedding day.
There were originally 7 events scheduled for this weekend and they were all offered to reschedule at no cost to them. Four of those parties accepted that option but for the other 3 clients the party will go on. Crystal Plaza has no intention of letting our clients down.
After watching the sad stories coming out of our area over the last few days this story shows there is still hope and love and beauty in the darkness.
